Emily Schmiedeberg

Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Masters of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Emily is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. Emily is trauma informed and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Emily provides both individual and family therapy and has worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings, including residential treatment, outpatient, and school-linked mental health. Emily works primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults. Emily utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches/modalities, tailored to the individual needs of the client. Approaches include; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology techniques. Emily also aims to incorporate Mind-Body healing through Somatic movements and Nervous System Regulation. 

Emily is passionate about helping others uncover their inner strengths and is dedicated to providing gentle support in a client-led environment.  She invites clients to come as they are and strives to provide a safe and welcoming space for all.  During sessions, it is common to find Emily playing your favorite tunes, taking an interest in your hobbies, or asking you about that daunting conversation you had to have the week before.  Emily is committed to learning your story and honoring what makes you authentically you.

Specialties include; parenting support, stress management techniques, supporting neurodivergent diagnoses, overcoming anxiety and depression, foster/adoption processes, and trauma-related challenges.
