Brandy is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy and brings over 10 years of experience working in a variety of private practice and community-based settings. Her background includes in-home therapy, individual and family therapy, parent coaching, and school-linked mental health services.
Brandy is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), master’s trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and is a Minnesota Board–approved clinical supervisor. She values integrating both bottom-up and top-down approaches to support healing from life’s stressors in meaningful and lasting ways. Her areas of specialty include individual and family therapy, trauma and stress-related concerns, depression and anxiety, anger management, self-esteem and body image, attachment-related challenges (including reactive attachment disorder), parenting concerns, and life transitions.
Brandy is trained in culturally responsive and inclusive care, including work with the LGBTQ+ community, and incorporates trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing into her work. She uses an eclectic, individualized approach grounded in empirically supported modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt therapy, Person-Centered therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused approaches, play therapy techniques, strengths-based strategies, and ART. Brandy is committed to ongoing professional development and remains flexible and open-minded to ensure care is tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
At the heart of Brandy’s work is a genuine desire to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. She is known for her ability to build strong therapeutic connections through active listening, unconditional positive regard, and compassionate support. Brandy also shares her practice with a friendly canine “coworker,” Pierce, a therapy dog who may be incorporated into sessions for clients who feel comfortable. She enjoys integrating play, creativity, and meaningful activities into therapy as additional ways to foster engagement and healing. Above all, Brandy is passionate about sitting with others emotionally and helping clients cultivate insight, resilience, self-belief, optimism, and hope.
